October 15th, 1996 UPGRADE TO screenrestore X11 PROGRAM The DR1 & DR2 versions of screenrestore simply restored the video console colors to some which resembles greyscale. This newer version actually restores the color maps to something reasonable. NOTE, Mac O/S does dither the color map before MkLinux is booted. You may want to have screenrestore while MkLinux is booting to have consistant video console colors before and after X11 is run. To install screenrestore, download screenrestore.gz from the update directory on the FTP site. Uncompress it, (gunzip screenrestore.gz) and then install it into the /usr/X11R6.1/bin directory. This can be done by the following set of commands running as root - gunzip screenrestore.gz cp screenrestore /usr/X11R6.1/bin/screenrestore chmod 755 /usr/X11R6.1/bin/screenrestore
